Payroll Manager

We are seeking a talented Freelance Payroll Manager to join our community and support our clients across a wide range of industries. As a Payroll Manager you will be the strategic leader behind ensuring all employees are compensated accurately and on time. Managing payroll you will work in tandem with HR, finance, and other departments to oversee the complete payroll process. You will ensure compliance with regulatory standards, manage payroll taxes, and implement best practices to streamline the process.

  • Oversee Payroll Operations: Manage and execute bi-weekly, monthly, or annual payroll runs while maintaining strict accuracy and timeliness.
  • Compliance & Taxation: Ensure payroll compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including tax filings, wage laws, and reporting requirements.
  • System Management: Administer payroll software, troubleshoot issues, and implement upgrades to improve process efficiency.
  • Financial Reporting: Collaborate with the finance team to provide detailed payroll reports, reconcile payroll accounts, and ensure alignment with the general ledger.
  • Employee Support: Address payroll-related questions, resolve discrepancies, and provide excellent service to all employees regarding their compensation.
  • Policy Implementation: Develop and enforce payroll policies and procedures to maintain best practices and efficiency.
  • Audit & Compliance Reviews: Lead internal audits of payroll processes, identify risks, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and guide the payroll team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

This is what you are brilliant in

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in payroll administration or payroll management.
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation and labor laws.
  • Previous experience with payroll software.
  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain high accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Leadership skills to manage and develop the payroll team.
  • Experience in various industries is an advantage.
